Peter Gardner

Peter Gardner was enslaved in North Guilford by Jared Scranton, who freed him in 1793. His probate inventory suggests he may have been both a farmer and a fiddler and that he lived on property he owned. Among the items listed are a violin, a house, and farmland. Married to Dinah, he died in 1825.
