Onesimus

Onesimus was one of at least three people enslaved by Elijah Williams, a store owner and the son of the Reverend John Williams. Onesimus was baptized at the First Church in 1766.  Others enslaved by Elijah Williams included Town and Coffee. More than 18 enslaved and free Black men and women held accounts at Williams’s Deerfield store between 1745 and 1775.
