A young girl whose name is no longer known was enslaved by Dr. Thomas Williams. The only known evidence of her presence appears in a letter Dr. Williams wrote to his father in August 1757: “our poor Negro Girl is yet living after 36 days confinement with ye Slow fever; her case Appears as yet very dubious…”
