Hartford

Stone Number: MA 21

 Initially enslaved by Matthew Tallcott of Middletown, Connecticut, Hartford was sold to Thomas Dickinson in 1758. Hartford’s name appears in Elijah Williams’s Deerfield store account. Other surviving Deerfield account books record Zadock Hawks making shoes for Hartford and John Russell making him a coat.
